As the famous Barbour brand has just launched two new fragrances –Barbour Fragrance For Him & For Her – they wanted to celebrate the ingredients in their new Barbour Fragrance.
As a result I was invited to a Wreath-Making.
I have detailed the steps below.
What you need to make a Christmas Wreath
You will need one wreath ring, scissors, (green) twine, florist wire and moss, in addition to hardy and different textured foliage such as eucalyptus, spruce, ivory, evergreen oak and buxus.
Christmas decorations such as fir cones, dried oranges, dried bergamot and cinnamon sticks look great and create a delicious festive aroma. However, to go the extra mile, be bold and try some pepper as it will bring new colours.
Take your evergreen foliage and begin to twist it around the metal circle. Wrapping the stem of the leaves around the metal wire, try and keep the end of the leaves facing outwards. Tie in place using the twine or gardening wire, and continue around the circle until you have covered the wire in leaves. You may need to tie each stem in a few different places depending on how long each piece is.
You can now add flowers to inject colour and brighten up the greenery. Keep securing these extra pieces with a single wrap of wire.
Finally, finish your wreath with pepper or dried oranges for a seasonal touch. Try spray painting your pine cones in gold, silver or fake snow to add even more festive spirit to your wreath!

If you’ve used fresh foliage, hanging your wreath outside will help it keep for about 4 weeks. If you hang a fresh wreath inside, it will last approximately 2 weeks – although this will vary depending on which type of foliage you’ve used.

The Story Behind Rumpl
On a surf and ski trip through California, their founders were sleeping in a van, several miles up a dirt road near a secret hot spring. They awoke the next morning in subzero temperatures with a car that wouldn’t start. Far outside of cell reception, and confronted with an impossibly long walk into town, they decided to bundle up in their sleeping bags and drink whiskey while they waited for someone else to show up.
Minutes turned to hours, and in that time the conversation took an unexpected turn to the subject of bedding. Cozy and warm in their sleeping bags, the two acknowledged how much better the materials felt and performed than what was on their beds back home. A resolve was made to create a “sleeping bag blanket” and the idea for thefirst Rumpl product was born.
Returning from the trip and borrowing a sewing machine, the first Rumpl “Puffy” blankets were hand sewn in a cramped San Francisco apartment. After several months using the blankets, the two realized they had stumbled on to an idea much grander than just a sleeping bag blanket. The materials typically found in everyday blankets hadn’t evolved in hundreds of years—the entire category wasn’t utilizing any of the material innovation that was taking place in apparel, outdoor gear, and activewear. The Rumpl brand was born!

After turning to Kickstarter, getting funded in less than 24 hours, and ultimately hitting more than 10x the original campaign goal, they realized that others wanted more from an everyday blanket. Since that initial Kickstarter success, Rumpl has grown from a single home made ‘sleeping bag blanket’ to a whole line of blankets and technical comfort products that redefine the category.

Also, Rumple has just announced a distribution agreement with Unify Brand Partnerships, a distributor in the United Kingdom known for representing pivotal brands within the lifestyle, sport and outdoor categories.
Rumpl believes the blanket you use every day deserves the same attention to detail as a sleeping bag you might use ten times a year. In 2019, the brand completely redesigned their core line of blankets to only use 100% post-consumer recycled materials. They’re now recycling over 5 million discarded plastic bottles through their supply chain every year.
They’re also donating 1% of all revenue to environmental non-profits, as well as being members of the freshman cohort of brands that are certified as climate neutral.
In their own words: “One of our brand’s core values is to “Look To The Future Responsibly,” and consider that value in every business decision we make. We were really pleased to try the new Tom Daxon fragrance.
The best way to introduce it would be to quote them: “Laconia eau de parfum, a vibrant and zesty fragrance that is reminiscent of homemade Grecian lemonade”.
The story behind the fragrance
Tom Daxon spent the autumn of 2017 in Monemvasia, Greece.
He drunk a ‘real’ and vibrant-flavoured homemade lemonade made from lemons grown on the hotel’s estate; mixed with ice, mint and some local honey. It seemed like the idea of a perfect summer fragrance – something to refresh and revive in the heat. This is how it all started.
For the anecdote, Laconia is the region of Greece Tom travelled to.
What is the fragrance made of
With a heart of water mint, green violet leaf and jasmine, the light floral scent is injected with zesty punches of lemon, orange and mandarin top notes.
